If you’re still not sure what my main theme is, besides people, then here it is: hustle. I admire people that hustle hard. So many people can be born into great circumstances where they don’t have to worry about survival or learning how to provide for themselves. But then there’s people that hustle each and every day. These people do whatever it take to survive. They know that hard work is the only way to succeed and get ahead. Now, there are people that have all the opportunities in the world and are still motivated because they understand what it takes to build something of their own. They know what the key component is to success: hard work and hustle. You must be willing to grind day in and day out! No excuses. No exceptions.
I want to take special focus today on small businesses across the U.S. In every city all the across the nation, there are small business owners that know and understand what it takes to make their business successful. These business owners hustle every single day. They know what it takes to keep their business running smoothly and growing. When you’re a small business owner, you might not have the resources needed to hire an accountant or marketing guy or even extra help for simpler tasks. There’s only one thing you can count on: your hustle to get the job done no matter what.
I’ve definitely seen this first hand. We walk into that small, local restaurant in the middle of the night after having the night of my life with a group of friends. As we walk into restaurant, with the amazing smell of food smacking you right in the face as soon as you open the door, we notice how awesome the place looks and how much work must’ve gone into it. While realizing that we made a great decision in picking this small venue, we notice on the door that they’re open until 5 a.m. 2 nights of the week. Local spots like this don’t have the luxury of hiring a night manager so you know that the same owner that opens the restaurant at 10 a.m. that day, will be at the restaurant until 5 a.m. the next day. You have to admire that hustle. They’ve become obsessed with their restaurant and treat it as one of their babies. That’s the way it should be. That’s how you succeed and get ahead in life. Hustle and learning about the business. You have to get your hands dirty.
Here’s a great short film by the entrepreneur, Gary Vaynerchuck. It’s about the most important word ever: hustle!!
Watching that video really gets me hyped. You have to be willing to hustle. I want to take a moment and acknowledge a great local business that hustles! The guys at topekabestroofing.com are the definition of hustle. They work harder than anyone I know and always strive to be the best at their craft. And that’s what everyone must do. Every one must be completely focused on making their business or craft the best it can be. This will build your confidence and make you that much better. Hustle hard my friends. Because I know that hustle will help you achieve your wildest dreams.
